Searlait is displeased with her new partner assignment. That is unfortunate, but I will not revise it. She is correct, though. I did have an agenda in mind when employing Kostya. He has lived in Russia all his life. Though he has avoided affiliation with the government despite his abilities, and though his criminal record shows no affiliation with the mafia, I feel it in my bones that he is just the person I need to assist me in locating Alexander.
His 28th birthday was last week. How have so many years passed without my being able to locate him? How can I continue to fail him? My soul cannot rest until I find Kaleb and set things right. He is the only son I have, my only progeny, the only one who will pass down the Hainsworth namesake. I have exhausted all my resources and can now only depend on a native Russian's facility with his countryland, and with its innerworkings.
I know that abominable woman must have involved herself with the Russian mafia in order to escape even this agency's reach. She cannot remain in hiding for long. I will find Alexander, God help me.
