Mary Jane, or M.J. as she's known in school, is one the grand daughters of the former mayor of Arcadia: Thaddeus Seymour. Her entire extended family is filled with politicians: lawyers, senators, royal advisors. Her parents, though, are wholehearted human rights activists, peace activists, animal activists.. name a cause, and the Seymour family most likely protests on its behalf. They have been known to picket outside courthouses and other government buildings in the name of everything from religion, war, and science to education and the environment. Mrs. Seymour wears head scarves and tye-die dresses to compliment her pastel shades and mardi gras beads; Mr. Seymour is a professional surfing instructor. M.J. has come out as a fun-loving fashion-savvy chatterbox who loves makeup, pop history, hanging out with friends, and of course: boys.
